Civic Arena Mural Fall 2022

The decades long dream of indoor hockey became a reality in 1994, when the City of Sauk Centre and the Sauk Centre Youth Hockey Association joined forces to develop and construct the multipurpose Civic Arena. The skating season begins in mid October and concludes in early March. Ice activities during the winter months include: Youth Hockey, High School Hockey, Figure Skating Club and an Adult Hockey Recreational Program.

A mural dedicated to the sport of hockey was proposed by the Hockey Association in 2021. Roger Reinardy designed the mural. Fundraising was started by a group from the Hockey Association.

The mural was completed at the end of September in 2022.

Children's Literature Mural Summer 2018

Books come to life on the south wall of the STEP building right next to the Sauk Centre Public Library on Mainstreet. The project started in June and was completed in August. Coordinating Council members Roger & Mike headed the project & especially made an effort to include people of all ages to participate. Local artist Diane Leukam did much of the detailed work on various characters.

Thanks to Cory Lawrence, executive director of STEP, headquartered in Browerville, and Elaine, manager of the local Sauk Centre shop, for allowing the use of the wall of their building for the mural. A steady flow of people in and out the the library throughout the summer provided ready volunteers and fans to get their hands dirty with paint and admire the work on the mural. Support Our Troops Mural on the Legion Summer 2016

The mural was proposed to the legion by Roger Reinardy and dedicated in honor to two of Sauk Centre's very own. Mike Wiesser, a Vietnam veteran, and wife Judy joined in the project.
